Zara Dance is an Egyptian-British belly dancer based in Cairo, where she has performed in cabarets and five-star hotels for over eight years. Drawing on her mixed heritage, she is passionate about sharing the culture and history of Egyptian dance with the worldwide belly dance community.
She is especially known for teaching Shaabi and Mahraganat dance due to her own Shabbi routes, as well as for shedding light on the challenges and realities facing Egyptian dancers today.
Alongside her international teaching and performance career, Zara has released two acclaimed albums, publishes Zameena, the monthly belly dance magazine, and runs Yalla Bina, a YouTube channel teaching belly dance in Arabic to inspire the next generation of Egyptian dancers.
She is also the founder of Zara's Zouk, a leading online belly dance shop, and co-organiser of Celebrating Dance Festival, one of the UK's biggest and longest-running belly dance festivals.
